Akiko mini by ~brianne333
Another mini commission done! This one for the lovely Sarah Petrulis!
I’m gonna be completely out of this backlogged hole at some point, really I am.
Also, not really back from my hiatus from tumblr btw because I haven’t had time to play ME3 and beat it. :( I hope I haven’t missed anything important!

This is Tadaka, for Sarah Petrulis - she’s a beautiful, exotic looking character and I really wanted to capture that. This is the finished result of that WIP I posted a while back. A lot of time went into this - I won’t lie, I struggled with this in the beginning because I wanted to do something different with the lighting and there were certain aspects of the painting that just weren’t coming out like I wanted at first. But, I think it paid off - at least for me it did, as I’m pleased with the final result.
Here’s a little dumb story though about how braindead I was this week and how it caused me to waste 30 mins of work on this image yesterday. I finally had some time to sit down and finish this yesterday so I sat down and started to paint. But, I noticed immediately that my color picker/eyedropper tool was not working correctly. The colors it was picking up were darker and just not the right shade. I checked all my settings but everything seemed fine. I starting searching the internet, figuring out what was wrong. It had just worked fine the last time I was working on this pic! 30 mins of messing around with this thing and I was just ready to toss my tablet out the window and call it a night.
That’s when I noticed that I was trying to paint under at least 6 layers of color filters. XD
It’s been a long week!
Finally feeling like a living thing again :) Back to work! Here is a WIP shot from a portrait commission I’m working on for Sarah P. :)
Another mini commission for Sarah Petrulis. This is her character Roman, drawn against a Louisiana city skyline as a background :) I feel great having finally drawn that suit jacket, because 24 hours ago, I wanted to throw my tablet out the window over it lol.

Wani for Sarah Petrulis. It was supposed to be a mini commission, where I do an inked and colored piece in a small resolution (200x600), but I got carried away and ended up fully painting it and then I just couldn’t bring myself to shrink it down!
It’s over at DA also - http://fav.me/d4npn2h
Done in Photoshop. Wani belongs to Sarah Petrulis!
Another WIP shot of the Halloween picture I was working on. I’ve been sick for a whole week now and still don’t feel any better. Incredibly doubtful I’ll finish this image before the end of Halloween, especially as I’m now headed to bed full of cold meds lol. Anyways, Happy Halloween all my lovely friends! <3
This is a gif which goes through some steps of my painting process for my last image of Ulynn. Joyce, the one who commissioned me, was curious about seeing my process so I made this for her and thought I’d share it here also. It’s a VERY simplified version of my steps, mostly because I don’t work on organized layers and just sort of paint on one layer until it feels like I should make a new one for posterity’s sake lol. It’s also not a tutorial by any stretch of the imagination, just a simple walk through of how I work.
