Oops, accidentally deleted my post where I direct to my non art tumblr. As a recap, I did decide to open a second tumblr account

Even though the opinions on whether or not it was preferable to separate personal/reblogs and art were pretty much right down the middle, I felt like I should go ahead and make the break for those who are interested in one but not the other. So from now on, only art will be posted at this one. And all personal stuff and reblogs will be posted at the other. No offense will be taken if you opt to follow one and not the other ;)

A little gift for my friend Heidi. She was having a rough day the other day and I used my warm up time to draw her something to hopefully cheer her up a bit. This is her lovely character Lilena from Tera Online. I think it sort of ended up resembling Heidi herself a bit!

Just a messy WIP. You can see where I was still dealing with pressure sensitivity issues (like where I drew the arm) and where I finally worked it out with my NEW tablet (not the Monoprice, which I never did get working) like in her face and most of the shading.

So glad to be done dealing with tablet issues. That only took two weeks. :/

A rough base work for a commission. Not actually very indicative of what the final product will be since the final will be in color and she’ll have more clothes and texture and a background.

So, I loved Dark Knight Rises so much that my face was melting with my sheer love of it and then I came home and did this quick doodlething of Catwoman. Was going for Anne Hathaway version, though I’m not sure if I quite got her resemblance down.

Also wanted to do her hair down as it was a few times in the movie, but not sure if I quite remembered it correctly!

This is Tadaka, for Sarah Petrulis - she’s a beautiful, exotic looking character and I really wanted to capture that. This is the finished result of that WIP I posted a while back. A lot of time went into this - I won’t lie, I struggled with this in the beginning because I wanted to do something different with the lighting and there were certain aspects of the painting that just weren’t coming out like I wanted at first. But, I think it paid off - at least for me it did, as I’m pleased with the final result.

Here’s a little dumb story though about how braindead I was this week and how it caused me to waste 30 mins of work on this image yesterday. I finally had some time to sit down and finish this yesterday so I sat down and started to paint. But, I noticed immediately that my color picker/eyedropper tool was not working correctly. The colors it was picking up were darker and just not the right shade. I checked all my settings but everything seemed fine. I starting searching the internet, figuring out what was wrong. It had just worked fine the last time I was working on this pic! 30 mins of messing around with this thing and I was just ready to toss my tablet out the window and call it a night.

That’s when I noticed that I was trying to paint under at least 6 layers of color filters. XD

It’s been a long week!

Finally feeling like a living thing again :) Back to work!...

Brianne is another person that I just have not talked to that much over the past year. Thank goodness for Twitter though! But Brianne’s influence has been much more far reaching than some others.

Brianne was the founder and head of the recently deceased Private Exchange. ‘Twas an awesome, invite-only group with fantastic people that had monthly exchange rounds you could sign up for. Fantastic artists all, and you were GUARANTEED an exchange picture back as there were penalties for being late or not turning in your side at all, and there were always people willing to take up one side of an exchange they may not have been completed.

Back around May 2005 I was invited in to the group by Brianne. I remember being absolutely floored at the time and completely flabbergasted that someone wanted me to be a part of such a group. I don’t think I can’t thank Brianne enough for that invite. I may not have participated as much as I wanted to over the years that I was there, but every single time was fun and exciting, and I got to get in touch with some AMAZING people. I hope I can keep up some sort of communication with any PE people, as I would be hard pressed to find any others nicer on the internet. Seeing the Private Exchange shut down in November was heartbreaking. I only wish I could have done more for everyone there, and for Brianne for bringing it all together.

The PE isn’t all that Brianne has created, but it’s definitely the one with the biggest impact. And since 2011 saw my last exchange picture for it, Brianne needed to be recognized. And besides, have you SEEN the ladies she draws? YOW. Seriously people, if you see her available for commissions, DO IT.

This is a really sucky shout out, but I think most of these are going to be that way. It’s hard to put in to short blurbs how awesome you people are! Ah well. Here’s to 2012! Though the PE doesn’t exist anymore, the artists gathered together still do, and Brianne created an awesome nexus for that to happen. I hope I can participate more in the original character role play featuring a race called Unavisi that Brianne has also created. One more thing I haven’t been big on participating in the past, but I’m out of college, so I have time now, right?

You know, I was going to wait until I slept to respond to this, but I just can’t wait. I had to say something! Amanda, this is just the sweetest thing - I am honored to be featured by you and all of the kind things you had to say meant so much to me. The only thing I ever wanted of PE was a place where artists could all come together and enjoy beautiful art, valuable art advice, friendships and reliable trades as much as possible. Knowing when someone did experience that with PE makes me feel great and makes the whole thing worthwhile.

I’m just flabbergasted (yeah, I just used that word!) to be part of this feature you’ve been doing and of course - then I scroll to the bottom and see I get gorgeous Pom art to boot? Score for me! Seriously, thank you so much - Pom looks so gorgeous, and I love the side view with the turned head. I have always loved your work, but it’s extra enjoyable when it features one of my chars! ;D I love the beautiful, feminine eyes and the slight head tilt. And you got her poofy bits of hair just perfect! I love this so much.

Thanks for being a great friend and an inspiring artist Amanda. Here’s to many more years of friendship between us!
